Short-beaked Echidna
This image is a close-up of a short-beaked echidna. Short-beaked echidnas are egg-laying mammals that are native to Australia and New Guinea. They have spines like a hedgehog, but they are not related. Echidnas have long snouts that they use to forage for food, such as insects and worms. They have short legs and strong claws for digging. Echidnas are solitary animals and are nocturnal.
